A Quick Visit...Really!! But I Have Pictures!

Okay, peeps and peepettes, I took a little look at my blog and noticed that I haven't put down one word in over a week!!  I would say that I cannot get out of vacation mode, but that's not really true.  I blogged more on vacation than I have since I've been home.  LOL

But either way, here is a quick visit...

I have tomatoes!!  They're not really ready, but I wanted to get a picture before the birds had a little snack. My plant doesn't look too healthy...not sure if it is the weather (about 95 degrees every day) or that hubby didn't water well enough while I was gone.  Oh well, at least I have a few tomatoes!

And my first gladiola.  Very odd...I have lots and lots of plants, but this is the only one blooming.

I've tried to stay focused on my Giants afghan.  I am a little over half done.  I hope to finish it before baseball season ends.  LOL

And my not-so-favorite slubby scarf.  I am still not loving it, but I will soldier on.  LOL  I am on my second skein of yarn.  There is no way I will have enough to finish this scarf.  So....I took a little looksy on the World Wide Web...and guess what?  I found more yarn!!  LOL  LOL  LOL  It isn't the same yarn, but it compliments these colors and I think I can do some color blocks or stripes and make it work.   And of course, since it was on sale, and the more I bought, the better the sale price, well...I bought a tiny bit more than I needed for this scarf.  LOL  I will post pictures when it gets here!!

I am off and running.  Not really...but it sounds good.  LOL  Here's wishing for a lovely evening to all.  Be kind to one another.

  1. Home grown tomatoes are the best! My mom is hoping her cherry tomatoes turn out well this year. But like you said, the birds might get them first.

I am waiting for blueberries and figs! I hope I can bake with one of them this summer :)

Your flowers look gorgeous. Our crepe myrtles are blooming everywhere.

I am loving your crochet and knit projects. If you hadn't said it was a baseball themed project, I would have thought it was Halloween. You can tell I don't follow sports. Lol

Have a great rest of your week :)

  2. I envy you for your tomatoes, lol. There is nothing better than tomatoes that you pick in your own garden and just eat them right after picking them. Sooooo delicious. But you are right, they need a lot of watering when it's very hot.
Wonderful progress on your projects. And good that you could get some more wool for the scarf, it will certainly look great with stripes or block of different wool.

    1. Oh, I'm so glad about your headaches. :-) I stare out the window...I'm sure that will make them ripen faster. I have lots of gladiolus plants, but no blooms. Maybe they need more water.

  4. I so enjoyed your posts. Tomatoes are awesome when home grown, the ones in the stores all have no taste because they are picked green and never get a chance to develop their yummy taste. Love your projects...goodness....what will we do now that you have discovered the net has yarn! :) Looking forward to seeing more of your lovely projects. Wishing you a most lovely day sweet friend. :)

    1. I picked up the box of yarn on the way home...I am adding to the suspense by trying to wait a bit...Will that happen? LOL Probably not. LOL

  5. This is a great post Angela. I'm sure you will get to enjoy some lovely tomatoes soon with that wonderful home grown flavour that store bought never have. Your giants afghan could also double for Halloween...cheery colour combination. Your knitting is splendid and I'll look forward to seeing what you do with the overall scarf.

    1. Oh, thank you! I seem to be crocheting really, really slow this week. I sit on the couch, I pick up my blanket....and go to sleep. LOL If I could just do both at the same time. I've got a few more tomatoes ALMOST ready. Yum!
