Good morning, peeps and peepettes. I know, I know, I have been MIA for two weeks. Let me map out my days for you.
Roll out of bed at 4 am.
Get dressed, make lunch, go to work.
Work all day, head home.
Oh, wait, need to feed the cows!! Five different stops, 35 head of cattle, takes two hours.
(My brother is on vacation, so I am on cow patrol.)
Feed cows.
Get home, feed family and Dad.
Put hay in truck for tomorrow.
Take shower, sit down to knit or stitch, fall asleep, wake up, go to bed.
Next morning...
Roll out of bed at 4 am.
Etc, Etc, Etc...
But, I have taken pictures for you! LOL This is how it starts. If you look carefully, you can see a bit of a cow....waiting...
Crunch, crunch, crunch....
My baby cow, not really a baby anymore!
We were lucky to get some rain this past winter, and honestly, we only feed hay supplement to keep our cows in top shape. We planted and harvested 1100 bales of hay, so we will be fine this winter. But why do we feed? Here is California in July...dry and brown...
Brother will be home late tomorrow. Thank goodness, I'm tired. LOL
The Fourth of July was spent with family, and I am off on weekends, but those days were filled with chores and more chores. I fit in a few naps, just to try and catch up.
I don't want you to think that I've been a slacker. I have ALMOST finished my slub scarf. I have ten, yes, ten, rows left. I am hoping that I can get it done between house chores today.
And a couple of random pictures...
Here is a baby bunny ear...
A baby bird...
And baby fish...lots of them...LOL I started with eleven fish, three died, the rest is history...These are orange platies and my two algae eaters.
So...I am off and running, kind of...LOL At my age, I don't really run anywhere these days. Have a wonderful weekend, be kind to one another.
I am tired just reading of your adventures. Keeps you in shape I think! We had Mickey Mouse Platys when the kids were little. Babies are fun!
ReplyDeleteAs tired as I get, I still enjoy the fresh air and nature. As long as they don't get out while I'm on duty. LOL I am about out of room with my platies. The rule is one inch per gallon of water, I think I'm at that. LOL
DeleteThat's a long day on the farm, but definitely worth it because you keep your cows healthy.
ReplyDeleteAwww.....who would have thought a bunny cactus would be so cute?! Lol
I'm surprised you were able to get so close to the baby bird without the mom going crazy!!
I'm loving the scarf so far!! Go Angela! You can finish it!!!
I took that cactus picture three or four days ago, it is already two inches bigger! LOL
DeleteThe bird's nest is right outside my front door, she is pretty used to us. LOL
Finished the scarf yesterday afternoon!! Picture on next post.
Dear Angela, you sound almost as tired as I am. You have quite a schedule there and hope you will have a break from it soon as necessary as it all is. I still don't imagine California so dry and brown...only lush and green in my mind. A cousin of mine wrote a book called Cows Don't Know It's Sunday...you could relate. LOL
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! LOL My dad was raised Catholic, but we never went to church. He said that the grass grew on Sunday and the cows had to be fed. LOL
DeleteOh friend, you are run yourself ragged. Love the scarf! Wow...that's a lot of cows...so cute with that glimpse of one, too. I hope things calm down for you soon so you can catch your breath. ((hugs)) to you sweet friend, and blessings, too.
ReplyDeleteDoing pretty good today...my brother got back in town yesterday, so I am off cow patrol. I like cows, and really do enjoy being out in the fields with them, this is just not a good time. LOL
DeleteOh my, what a long day this is for you. But now that your brother is back you might be back to your normal routine. Great that you could even add some rows to your scarf. Which has great colours!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures of the countryside - and the cows, lol.
I enjoyed my time with the cows, but am now pushing to get stuff done at home. LOL I've only got 5 more rows on my orange and black granny square, then on to my cross stitch project. It felt so good to finish something. LOL
