SCORE: Me-0 Chores-Too Many To Count

Happy Friday afternoon from the rancho!

I am now 14 days into my vacation.  Last week was all about me and visiting friends and loved ones. This week is all about chores.  I have filled my second green waste barrel and have at least two more worth in piles.  It seems that I raked, and raked, and raked, until everything hurt.  LOL

Then I started on my potted irises.  Not too bad.  Finished them in about an hour.  I just need to pick up some dirt to even out the pots.

As for the irises in front of the house...oh my.  Not my favorite job, but had to be done.  You will notice one missing fence board.  That would be a gift from our neighbors.  LOL  At least they didn't knock the entire fence down.

Before and after.  If you look carefully, you can see the pile of dead leaves at the end.  I'm sure that everyone driving down the road is glad I'm done...I spent an hour bent over with my behind up in the air.  I'm sure that was not a pretty sight!  LOL  No picture of THAT!  You can say thank you later. LOL

And my special grape irises from Sweet Vickie...new growth! Yay!!

I've been busy with my knitting and crocheting, too.

Scarf...only 1/2 of a skein left to knit.

Blanket...only 10 more skeins to crochet.  LOL

I hope to finish my scarf by the weekend, the blanket by the end of the month.  Dad and I are on our own today, so after I get done with his snack, I should have  a few hours to stitch.

I wish of each of you a wonderful weekend.  Be kind to one another.

    1. Good morning! We are waiting for rain. Should be here Saturday night. That is part of the reason I wanted the leaves into piles off the dirt...too hard to rake when they're wet. LOL

My son called last night, cold and windy there, too. I said that the weather app I have said that it was snowing. LOL He said he hadn't been out in a few hours, it was possible. LOL

  3. Sounds like you are having a wonderful vacation so far! Restraint in a yarn and cross stitch and yarn shop?! Good for you, I don't think I'd be able to. Lol

I love seeing all your adventures. It looks gorgeous over there this time of year.

It's cloudy and turning cold here for a couple of days! Eek!

Good luck with all your chores. It looks like you have a made a lot of progress :)

You are more patient than me. I would have been grumbling the entire time I was weeding that fence row!! Lol

    Have a great weekend :)

    1. Good morning. I try not to mumble too loudly, there is a lot of people that walk up and down our road. I don't want to give them the wrong idea. LOL I still need to prune the roses, but I've got two big piles and no space in the cans. No burning here, either. I can prune all the way up to January and still be okay.

    1. I usually only take three weeks if I am going out of state...but this has been a wonderful vacation! A little travel, a few chores, lots of stitching time! LOL

  5. You were on a roll there Angela. What a sense of accomplishment, heh. My gardening is all done; in the middle of a snowstorm all day today and continuing tomorrow. But cozy inside and a great excuse to drink hot chocolate.

    1. I finished my raking and cleaning the day before we got hit by rain. Only a half of inch, but so nice to know that my piles are ready for pickup and extra time to work on knitting!

  6. Your vacation sounds really good. And yes, I can see the pile of dead leaves at the end of the fence. The kind of yard work that I don't love very much but which has to be done, sigh.
