Rounding the Corner...and More Flowers

Good morning from the rancho....

Here it is Sunday. Sigh.  Where does the time go?  It was a tough week at work.  I was incredibly busy and it seemed like every day was a Monday. It changed my whole attitude and I feel like I am on a never ending trek. Wake up, go to work, take care of Dad, do chores, go to bed.  Wake up, etc, etc, etc.  I know that there is an end, and am terrified, but I am just so tired right now...and it's not a physical tired.  Sigh.  Enough whining.  I have a break coming on the 20th, so I need to just pull up my big-girl panties and deal with it.

I have lots of blooming going on.  The roses bushes next to the house are loaded.  Here are two blooms just waiting to open.

This flower came out of the same pack as the bright yellow one from last week.  I still don't know what they're called.

My irises are in bloom.

On the stitching and crafting front, I worked on my Cherry Hollow a bit this week.  I'm rounding the second corner...

I finished-finished my box.  I double waxed the outside, added a padded bottom, and filled in the edge with black chenille.  I'm happy with how it turned out.

Wishing each of you a wonderful Sunday and week.  Be kind to one another.

  1. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to be a care giver and have a full time job and family to take care of, too. I send you ((hugs)). Lovely stitching. :) Ohhh the flowers are all so pretty. :) Love the basket. Gosh, you sure do get a lot done...you make me feel like a slacker (which I totally am, but that is just between you and I).

Wishing you a lovely day sweet friend. ((hugs))

    1. You, girl, are no where NEAR a slacker!! LOL This afternoon is better. I finished all my chores, made a nice dinner, and now are heading to the other end of the house to paint a box. I get like this every three months or so...don't know why, just do.

I love your sampler and your flowers are gorgeous. I'm sure all the rain has been a godsend.

    1. I took a little nap, ready to rule the world again. Well, maybe not rule the world, but at least I will be participating. We got another inch of rain on Friday. Every little bit helps.

    1. Thank you, Vickie. I am checking on "your" irises every day. Lots of new growth...they are going to be spectacular!

I am painting a red box right now. I think I'll use this one to mount a punch needle.

  4. You are tired because it really is all so tiring, Angela. I remember feeling like work was a treadmill you stepped on and then couldn't get off, and of course, you have other work at home. Hand in there. Lovely flowers and stitching.

    2. I'm glad to get back to my stitching. It's a quiet spot in my day. It's funny, after so many years of different projects, I always come back to cross stitch.

  5. I hope this week will be better than the last. At least you have the break to look forward to. Keep that in your mind as a 'reward' of sorts from the stress of work, etc.

Your flowers are enjoying the CA weather. My sister has a rose bush with has different roses grafted on it. Right now, it is blooming pale orange roses :)

Love your finishes! And the cross stitching?! Lovely!!!

  6. Oh, you were working on your lovely cross stitch project. It is looking so nice. And your flowers are just gorgeous. My rose bush is now green all over but no rose buds yet. But our spiraeas and serviceberries are blooming all over. A wonderful sight.
