Bye Bye, Baby Boy...See You in May!!

Today was the day.  We drove Baby Boy to the airport bright and early...6:30 am.  I managed to keep my tears to myself.

I've got lots of pictures, so pour a cup of coffee(or tea!) and put your feet up.  It's time to chat...

Yesterday was our last hurrah.  A walk on the beach, lunch at a great seafood restaurant next to the beach, a drive through the country, and a visit to an old friend.    Let's start with our morning walk...

There is a wonderful boardwalk next to the ocean.  It was a little overcast, but no wind and almost warm.  LOL  Mr. Blue Heron was standing very, very quiet.  I'm not sure what he was looking for, but he was very intent on finding it.

Further down, here is some vegetation next to the boardwalk..

The ocean view...

The view at the end of the walk...

Off to lunch...and a picture with the wooden pirate outside the restaurant.

And, finally the ride home.  We went through the hills, not really mountains, but still about 1500 feet.

This view shows the green hills (thanks to the rain!) with Morro Rock in the distance.  There was still a light mist...

The last of the drive, through the oak trees, with ferns growing under them...again, thanks to the rain...

One of my favorite people. I have a new phone and accidentally sent it as a black and white picture.  I like it!  LOL

The next time I see Baby Boy will be in May, at his graduation in Iowa.  I'm already planning my trip.  LOL

Sorry, no project pictures.  I've been a bit busy.  I'm sure you all understand.  SMILE   Have a wonderful evening and be kind to one another.

    1. Good morning, Vickie. It was a wonderful visit...my son is one of my favorite people to hang out with. I asked if he would stand to next to the pirate so I could get a picture. Nope. I rephrased it...go stand next to the pirate. Okay, Mom. LOL I sure love that boy! He is so good to me.

  2. All wonderful stuff, Angela. I loved your ocean photos. I miss the ocean so much here;having grown up on an island, it was never far away. You had such a wonderful visit and I too love that black and white of the two of you.

    1. There is something about the ocean. My son and I could sit for an hour and just watch the waves. My husband...not so long. After 10 minutes, he wanted to know what we were doing next. LOL And the two mile walk, after the first mile, he said that we may have to go ahead, get the truck, and then pick him up. He made it. LOL I really like the picture...I think I will have it printed up.

  3. What beautiful photos--Looks like it was a wonderful walk & drive in a lovely place! And made better with your men there!! I know you've had fun with your son--so nice to have a good visit and look forward to the next one! Your black and white photo is lovely, too, and should be framed as a reminder of a happy time!

    1. Good morning, Frances. It was wonderful. When my son lived 30 miles away, we would walk at least one good hike a month. I miss those...you can do a lot of talking in five miles. LOL

  4. Such lovely pictures. I like the one of you and your son, you both looks so happy. I think it's nice that it is in black and white, too. Goodness, I wanted to crawl through the screen and walk my happy butt down that beach! Dang, here I am stuck in 10 degree weather...I could almost feel the warm sand between my toes. So glad you all had such a wonderful time. Now take a breath and relax....oh, and don't forget to eat some chocolate...it's good for you, it has milk in it! :) Wishing you a most lovely day.

    1. Thank you! Poor Baby Boy...left here, it was 55 degrees. Flew into Iowa City, -3 degrees, with a -10 with the windchill. He is a braver soul than I. LOL I am saving 2 pounds of See's chocolate until I really, really need it. That could be any second now. LOL

    2. Oh goodness, what horrible weather. He is far braver than I as well. It got to 10 here and I thought I'd give up the ghost it was so cold! I am ready for Spring right now! Oh, yes, I think chocolate is needed at all times, in all situations! :)

  5. Oh my, Angela, these ocean view pictures are breath taking. That's one of the places I'd really like to be now. Away from all the snow here. And maybe your son, too, lol. Such a lovely picture showing you and your son. And as time is flying May will soon come :))
