Here it is Sunday morning and still no water. But, as I am a country girl and ever resourceful....I realized that I have 500 gallons of clean, chemical-laden water right in my back yard.
We have a spa...
So, with a bucket, I can at least flush the toilets. And I will have the cleanest, most sparkly facilities in the entire area. LOL
The dogs and the horse will be okay until tomorrow, and then I can stretch a hose from a friend's house. I won't ask to share their water except for the animals, water is too precious. I will make do with the spa.
Not the perfect plan, and I will need to pick up drinking water today for me, the house animals, and Dad, but it will work.
I am getting a lot of knitting done. And I'm not really missing the housework. LOL
In the big scheme of things, I'm much better off than a lot of other people. Between fires and floods in this country, my problem is very small. I am doing just fine.
Have a wonderful Sunday, be kind to one another.
There ya go! Necessity is the mother of invention! AdVeNtUrE! That's what this is! Right?! ;)
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I guess. LOL DH has no cell service in the mountains. Sent me a text. Sent one back saying no change. Either he is ignoring me, or hit another area with NO service. LOL He should be home tomorrow.
DeleteYou are very resourceful!!!
ReplyDeleteI learned how to flush a toilet with a bucket of water in Girl Scouts!!! haha
Be Prepared!!! hahaha
(I guess you're really lucky that spa is out there!)
Considering how much I complained about the cost of running the spa, I'm lucky that DH only shut it off...and didn't empty it! LOL
DeleteThat's a wonderful attitude. You are so resourceful! Praying you get your water back soon. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL Still waiting...and still working on projects. LOL
DeleteLucky you that you can use the spa water for flushing the toilet. And I hope that the other inconveniences will not take too long and that you have water back very soon.
ReplyDeleteI've been three days with no water...DH comes home today. I bet he doesn't last that long. LOL
DeleteOne of the first thinges we learned growing up in a hurricane prone area was to fill up bathtubs and buckets with water in case the power went out and we needed to flush toilets.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you have a spa with water! I hope you are able to get your well water running again.
You'll have to show us your 'well water disaster' knitting projects :)
I realized after the fourth or fifth bucket, I was so blessed to HAVE water to flush toilets. There are people in our area that lost their entire home to fire. I look at the flooding in the south, they can't even use their homes or their toilets. Nope, I doing just fine...
DeleteAngela,
ReplyDeleteI never realized you had a blog! So happy I found it.
You sound very resourceful and have a great attitude.
Hugs :)
Lauren
