I worked on my stitching this past week and made progress. Lots of tiny, four stitch squares. Tedious, but at least you don't have to keep checking the pattern. LOL
One of my friends sent a washcloth pattern. Has a very cute pumpkin outline. You know how I feel about anything pumpkin. LOL I didn't have dark orange cotton yarn, but did find this variegated with Fall colors in my stash.
Can you see the pumpkin? I have another skein of this yarn, so will be doing one more in the next few weeks.
Just had to show my little cow vase. I found it at an estate sale and fell in love with its little face. And how about that flower on the tail? Never had any of our cows with one of those! LOL I went out and grabbed one of my Christmas Aloe babies and moved it into its new home. Very sweet.
Dad is the same. I sat and watched him for a while yesterday. Just sat quietly and cried. I don't know why yesterday was any different than any other day, I just felt sad. So, then I got up, pulled up my big girl bloomers and got on with my day. We all do what we need to do.
I hope that all of you are safe and sound. As much as I dislike the heat, it's not a hurricane or a tornado. Be kind to one another.
Yup. After you brought it to my attention, I see the pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteFall has arrived early in northern Ohio. Already the nights have been cool and crisp. Great sleeping weather. I hope your heat wave ends soon.
Dad is so lucky to have you. There is a special place in heaven for you. (Not for a long time...lol!)
Hugs :)
Lauren
LOL Thank goodness you saw the pumpkin!! Between the pattern, a highlighter, and a row counter, I am proud that it has the general shape of a pumpkin. LOL I like to knit, but am definitely not out of the novice grade. You never know what I'll end up with!
DeleteYour checkered house is looking so good Angela. I do see the pumpkin. How neat! What an adorable cow planter. God bless you and your Dad.♥
ReplyDeleteIsn't that little face just too cute? Reminds me of the 1950's...with the red kitchens and white floors. Lots of color.
DeleteAll caught up on your posts Angela. You have doubled your dog amount since I last checked in...so cute. I was sorry to read about the change in Hospice status. Hopefully, you can work around it.
ReplyDeleteLove this pumpkin dish cloth. And I am pleased to be able to say I know who to knit this! I saw Starbucks have their special Pumpkin Spice latte thingies on the go now and thought of you!
LOL So far, I've managed to stay away from Starbucks...but I'm driving up to Modesto on Thursday. And there is a lot of Starbucks between here and there. LOL
DeleteWe are doing okay. My caregivers are the same and they take great care of my dad. That won't change. We just go with the flow. LOL
You poor thing! You would think that the heat would go down by September. You are a trooper for putting up with triple digit temperatures! I can't handle CA in the summer...give me the spring any day! Lol
ReplyDeletePumpkins!!!!!! That is cute washcloth. Perfect for fall.
Lol that cow is adorable and even better, it functions as a plant holder. That's a great way to rationalize buying something :)
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I didn't realize the government could take someone off of hospice. That's a shame in this country.
I hope you have a better week! Lots of hugs from AL!
Good morning! Since Dad is on Medicare, they pay the bills. If Dad doesn't show a steep enough decline, they will ask that he be reevaluated. It's a catch 22...if we don't take care of him, he will get bedsores and be miserable, but would stay on Hospice. If we take good care of him, he stays healthy enough to get kicked off Hospice. I don't think I can win on this one. LOL
DeleteHope that you have a wonderful end of the week!
Haha, I saw the pumpkin before seeing you mention it. Looks so cool on the dish cloth. And this little cow vase is so cute. Very nice progress on your checkered house.
ReplyDeleteI hope the thunderstorm and rain weren't too heavy and that there wasn't any devastation in your region. We have been having our first autumn storm yesterday and today, with lots of rain. But I don't mind as long as I can stay inside. And no temperatures in the 100s here either - it has been rather cool and even cold during the nights this week and last week. Summer is definitely gone.
Good morning! Our evenings are dipping into the 60s...yay! I am way past the "I am a little uncomfortable" mode. LOL I don't mind the 90 degree weather, but the humidity is just plain ugly.
DeleteEnjoy your day!
