Happy Sunday!

Good morning and Happy Sunday to all my peeps and peepettes!

Still making do here at the rancho.  It is not as hard as you would think...we've conserved water for so long, it's as though nothing is different!!  The only thing I've changed is to capture the gray water from the washing machine during the rinse cycle to water my hanging plants.  I've got spider plants and asparagus ferns from the 1980's.  I do not want to lose those.

It was a four day work week due to the Labor Day holiday, and boy, was I ready for the weekend! LOL Old people get tired fast.  I took part of yesterday as a "me" day and DH stayed with Dad.  The annual yarn crawl was going on, so I took a little trip to two of my favorite shops.  Ball and Skein and More is in Cambria and had a special guest.  I found a few skeins that I just HAD TO HAVE.  What a surprise.   I am starting to collect special yarn for my shawl.

Then it was off to Yarns at the Adobe in San Luis Obispo.  They had a "showcase" of the new yarns coming this fall...and a local artist who dyes and SPINS her own yarn.  All of the wool is from Oregon, the alpaca from Peru...so beautiful.  I picked up a couple a skeins.  I love the fact that it was all done by hand...

I've spent some time working on my scarf.  It is not creating stripes.  I'm not sure how I could be doing it wrong, it's only knit and purl!  LOL  It is still pretty, so I will keep going.  I have a boo-boo on the edge in a few places, but I think that blocking will take care of it.  I've already ripped it out twice, I just can't do it again.  Besides, it's a scarf...I don't think that a wavy edge will be life threatening.

I've worked a bit on my cross stitch project, but not enough for a picture.

As I was out and about yesterday, I stopped by and had my first Pumpkin Spice Frappacino of the season. Swoon...Even the picture makes my mouth water.

I wish each of you a beautiful Sunday.  As I close, please remember to be kind to one another.  There is so much hate and terror in the world. Each of us can make a difference.

  1. The scarf is looking great. Hmmm I might need that purple yarn in your photo....yep, I just might need that bad boy to come and live in my yarn stash! The pumpkin drink does look good, but I am not sure anyone could ever rip the iced coffee out of my paws to even think about replacing it...so I'll trust you on the yum! So glad you got out to have "me" time....it's very important that you take care of yourself as a caregiver, I know caregivers are always so loving that they forget to do that, but it's important to remember. :) What shawl pattern are you thinking of using? ((hugs)) to you sweet friend.

    1. I had a nice day...a pumpkin coffee...some beautiful yarn to pet...who could ask for more? LOL I really liked that scarf that you shared (attempted to enable me with) last week. It will have to be simple. I saw a square "shawl" on Facebook that I liked. You just do rows of garter stitch, but you switch yarn about every five row or so and leave the ends to fringe on the bottom. The more outrageous the yarn, the more colorful the shawl. I think I could do that. LOL

    1. Yes, indeed, it the Time of the Pumpkin. LOL I'll be honest, it was all I could do to not pick up a package of Starbucks Pumpkin Latte mix. If I could have found the price, I would have convinced myself it was worth it.

It is pretty interesting how my poor mood is tied to my overuse of sugar...I feel much better...and of course, more yarn. How could that be bad?

  5. PS is one of my favorite flavors of Frappuccino; the other being peppermint mocha during the winter :)

I need to stop buying them on the weekends...totally destroying my diet....why do they have to be so darn delicious?!?

The yarn colors you chose are gorgeous. I can't even tell that you are knitting your colors oddly. It still looks lovely :)

    Good luck with your plants!

    1. There is nothing tastier than pumpkin! LOL I try to stay away from Starbucks during the Fall...too much temptation.

I'm getting pretty good at judging when the rinse cycle starts. I think I can do this. LOL

  6. Oh my, these yarn colours look gorgeous. I think it's a good thing that I don't knit - I would collect yarns without stopping, lol.
