Good evening from the rancho.
First, it was a scarf. Just a little blue scarf...
Nice pattern, eight row repeat. But a "pretty scarf", not a particularly warm scarf.
Then, since I gave away the gray/blue scarf, I started a teal one for friend...
She is taking an Alaskan cruise for retirement, so I thought the simple rib pattern would be warm and cozy... My friend retires at the end of November, so this one is important to finish quickly.
And now the foolish part...I figured that it was time to throw a crochet project into the rotation...
What was I thinking? Three projects? At one time? I need intervention...Someone...anyone?
So....in order to feel better, I found these gems at the grocery store...because we all know that when we are feeling stressed and overwhelmed, sugar is always the answer. And what can be better than pumpkin AND sugar? LOL
Nope, definitely did not help. Sigh. I really need to kick the sugar habit. And, these were not as pumpkiny as I expected. Sad face.
We had an inch and half of rain this weekend. Very nice start to the rainy season. Here is the sunrise on Saturday. The pictures were taken only a few minutes apart...amazing color changes.
I start my vacation at the end of the week. No big plans, just a few overnight trips. I will spend some time organizing my stash, both yarn and cross stitch. And naps, definitely naps.
I wish each of you an amazing week. Be kind to one another.
So happy to hear you got some rain! My son said they even got some rain in LA a week or so ago.
ReplyDeleteHappy Halloween :)

Any rain is good rain!! I even count the mist and sprinkles. LOL
DeleteThrow yourself into your friend's Alaskan scarf and you will be down to two projects in no time. :D That crochet project is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI know, I know, but I am so fickle. LOL The crochet project is one of my "famous" granny squares, but the yarn is the perfect variegated for this type of project.
DeleteI watched a documentary on the California drought and let's hope your rain is the start of better/wetter days. Ahh projects, what would life be without them. I personally see nothing wrong with having 3 projects at once and Vickie is right...concentrate on the gift one (which is quite thoughtful and what a way to start retirement, heh!) and before you know it you'll be ready to add another to the pile. Cross stitch, maybe....
ReplyDeleteThere is something about making a gift for someone. It just makes my heart happy...
DeleteAnd yes, I need to get my cross stitch in my rotation! I have my finishing retreat in April. I need to get something finished so I can "finish-finish" it!
Yay! On the rain. Awesome. Oh I like both of the scarves you were working on. What a truly thoughtful gift to give to your friend. I am sure she will enjoy her warm scarf as she's out and about. Vacation time is always a wonderful time to work with the stash. I look forward to seeing more updates on what's going on with your projects and stuff. Wishing you a most lovely day sweet friend. ((hugs)).
ReplyDeleteI love the rain, but definitely forgot about the humidity that comes with it. LOL I have curly hair...guess what happens in humidity? Yep...FRIZZ!
DeleteI look somewhat like a sheep. LOL
Only two more working days...then look out! My needles will be smoking!
The scarf for your friend looks very cozy and will keep her warm on her trip to Alaska. And oh, such a lovely new crochet project. It must be fun to crochet such a square.
ReplyDeleteGood that you had at least a little rain after all.
I love the colors in the crochet project. The teal is beautiful!
