I truly had a plan. I would get up Saturday. Do chores and then stitch, stitch, stitch. Same plan on Sunday. The result? A Sunday post. My scarf would be finished and I would post the most amazing picture that could be ooohhh and aaahhhed over. Well. Chores? Yep. Stitching? Kinda. Then I had a nap, another nap, and then another nap. I can honestly say that napping certainly slows down my knitting. LOL
But, I did finish the scarf last night. So, here we are...
Well, well, well. I'm pretty sure that I will NEVER be able to do this again. LOL
I started my next scarf. It will be a checkered pattern, a simple knit block and purl block, done in tutu pink. I will get a few rows in and post a picture.
Otherwise, it is life as usual here at the rancho. Dad is still in decline. I was a bit worried last weekend, but his lung congestion seems to have eased, so we are back to our "normal". I thought about my life and the passage of time. My son was born on my dad's birthday and I am beginning to wonder if my dad will die on my birthday. I know, a bit morbid, but sometimes my mind does wander...I don't think that it would necessarily bother me. We have been on Hospice so long, nothing is really a surprise any more.
I am off like a herd of turtles. I can hear the yarn calling to me. Not really, but it is after 7 pm and I am old, so I will need to get ready for bed soon. LOL
I wish each of you a special Friday. Be kind to one another.
Love your scarf, Angela.
ReplyDeletePrayers for your dad. He is lucky to have you for a daughter!
Hugs :)
Lauren
Thank you! I was beginning to think that I would never get this scarf finished. LOL I was used to stitching with worsted yarn...this little yarn felt like sewing thread. LOL
DeleteLove the scarf. Who knew you were stitching it correctly? I assumed you were all along :)
ReplyDeleteGlad your dad's 'cold' went away.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you for the vote of confidence. SURE I knew what I was doing. LOL
DeleteYarn pooling heh. Interesting. I'm sure you won't recall that pink/brown/cream wool I used for an afghan. It didn't do any pooling and I didn't like the effect in the end and I remember whining about it in a post. It would have been nice if it could have pooled. But that was crochet not knitting; maybe the effect won't work with crochet. Enough about that. As Lauren said, your dad is indeed very lucky to have you as a daughter. But what a strong man he is. Amazing. Another weekend, Angela. Hope there is time for you and your stitching in it.
ReplyDeleteI saw a few projects that were crocheted. Seriously, I will never be able to do this again. LOL I watch Dad so closely. Even a tiny change seems like a disaster.
Deleteta da! Looks really great Angela! And now tutu pink?! COOL!
ReplyDeleteGod bless you for your dedicated, loving care of your father.♥
The tutu pink is fabulous! LOL I had thought it would have more variegation, but it is working with the pattern I chose.
DeleteLOVE your scarf! It's so pretty. I can't wait to see the pink one, too. Do you ever cross stitch anymore? I only ask because I am doing a SAL over on my blog....please do jump in with us. :) Wishing you a most lovely day sweet friend. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat? Pink? Well, just what would Miss Belle think? LOL I try to cross stitch one day a week...maybe if I took less naps. LOL
DeleteI can hear you on the napping times, Angela, lol. It's always a good thing to do after chores are finished.
ReplyDeleteFantastic, your scarf! This pattern looks so good on it. And now I'm looking forward to seeing your new pink start.
The older I get, the longer the naps! LOL Sometimes I think I should just say that "I am going to bed". LOL
